Tour of Brookland Grove, DC’s Newest Dynamic Townhome Community

*This post is sponsored by Tri Pointe Homes.*

One of our favorite pastimes is viewing open houses and model homes. I think the thrill of new possibilities and just seeing what’s out there beyond the border of our neighborhood is what gets Jasen and me out of the house to explore the “what could be’s”. So when Tri Pointe Homes reached out to tour their new townhome community, Brookland Grove, (right in the heart of one of DC’s most community-centric neighborhoods!), we were excited.

Before I get into the awesomeness of these homes, I want to tell you that you too can go and view these move-in ready homes. Whether you’re in the market for a new home or you just want to be surrounded by great architecture and design, you can freely go check out the spaces for yourself. They’re open daily 10-5pm Tuesday-Sunday and 12-5pm Mondays. You can also schedule a tour with one of their new home advisors, if that is more your thing. It’s a good date day activity!

The Brookland Grove homes are beautifully decorated by Bobby Berk, of Netflix’s Queer Eye. Each home was given a different design identity and Bobby and his team executed the vision masterfully. From design to the layout, they took the constructed house and made it a home.

The first model we saw was The Whitlow. This home’s layout and design style (Urban Midcentury) of this home was my personal favorite. The main entrance of the house greets you with a sitting area, which can also be a family room or just another hang out space. This model also had a full bathroom, so with a pull-out sofa you can make it a nice guest suite.

When you get to the first set of stairs, the striking wallpaper pulls you upward with much curiosity on what to expect next. And trust me, once you get up the steps, the home doesn’t disappoint. I like that Tri Pointe Homes added the main level’s powder room at the landing of the steps. It’s a thoughtful layout. To be honest, no one wants to hear what’s going on when someone’s in the bathroom, and you’re watching TV or cooking a meal. So, it’s nice that it has its own corner. This is a great feature in both model homes.

Once you pass the powder room, the scene opens up to the bold black kitchen that really takes your breath away. Good design like this really makes my heart smile. I rushed in and couldn’t wait to touch and explore every detail. I love how the main floor is open concept. It makes for great entertaining, while at the same time the design helped to zone each area, giving it purpose as you walked throughout.

The third floor is where all the bedrooms are…3 to be exact. It has 2 full baths, one for the en-suite of the owner’s room, and another one to service the two other bedrooms. The laundry closet is conveniently located in the hallway. I love this because who wants to carry laundry from the basement all the way up the steps? Again, more thoughtfulness with the layout.

The Whitlow just keeps getting better! There’s one more set of steps and it leads to a full rooftop deck. Besides the beautiful design and layout, I loved being up with the trees. It was magical. If I lived there, that’s where you’d find me most of the time.

We then headed over to the next model home…The Edgewood! This house is laid out differently from The Whitlow, which I really like about Brookland Grove, because you get to choose what style of home that best suits your lifestyle. When you walk through the front door, you’re met with a warm palette of Japandi style. The kitchen sits in the center of the Edgewood floor plan, between the dining area and living room. If you’re a cook, you won’t feel left out of the conversation during a dinner party. You’ll be front and center of all the action.

Head down a flight of steps from the main level, and the lower level has a cozy rec room vibe, although it’s not underground. I love that Bobby Berk put a cute workout area in the space, and there’s also a cute mudroom area right off the garage.

Jet up to the third level, where two out of the three bedrooms are, along with a stunning black painted office, that could be a bedroom as well.

The star of this home, well for me at least, is the 4th floor. There’s one more bedroom, and a full bath, but there’s also a dry bar with a game/dining table, that sits right off of a quaint outdoor patio. Just like The Whitlow’s rooftop, this is where you would find me if I lived in The Edgewood.

I love that both homes were thoughtfully crafted with outdoor living in mind. This new community of homes is in Brookland Grove near so many great amenities like shops, walkable parks, and amazing restaurants. You not only get a great home experience, but also a great neighborhood experience. If you’re in the DC, MD, VA area, come check out these new townhomes. And if you buy one, don’t forget who told you about it LOL. We need an invite to the first cookout!
