How To Style Your Bar Cart Two Ways
Could you believe it’s November already!? Which means Holiday 2020 begins in just a few short weeks, and it’s time to get our homes ready. Although this season will look a lot different for all of us, gathering in smaller numbers, we don’t have to sacrifice on decor and styling. With the help of my friends at The Home Depot, I want to show you two ways to style your bar cart. Oh wait…you don’t have a bar cart?? You should definitely get one at homedepot.com/decor.
The first way to style your bar cart is what I call the Traditional Way. That’s adding your favorite drinks, glassware, bar tools, and other decorative items. But nothing is ever that simple. For my traditional cart, I wanted to create height, texture and lots of visual appeal. I did that by first adding candles. I love these taupe tapered candles from homedepot.com/decor. They don’t only come in white. Experiment and try different colors.
Then I added in my glassware. In order to create height and interest, I opted for frosted champagne glasses, cocktail glasses that were crystal clear and shorter to create dimension. Because nothing is ever basic for me, I used large square ice cube trays and added mint, rosemary and blueberries to dress up the cocktail glasses. (I know what you’re thinking, The Home Depot carries cool shaped ice cube trays?…YEP!)
An item that is crucial to the overall look of your bar cart, but has nothing to do with the bar lol, is adding flowers or plants. I created this floral arrangement, and it really brings the right amount of drama to the cart! If you’re digging the vase…you can get that at The Home Depot online as well.
Every bar cart needs a tray, with an ice bucket, and bar tools, like this beautiful steel and wood shaker set. And what’s a bar without a whiskey decanter? You honestly don’t even have to fill it. It’s a beautiful sculpted piece of glass that can stand alone. Oh…please don’t forget coasters! The last thing you want is to have your surfaces ruined by ring marks. Grab these beautiful black marble coasters.
And lastly, add artwork! Artwork brings personality. It can soften up the seriousness of the wines, and whiskeys and bring some color to your cart. I DIYed my art and used this frame and matting but if you’re not that crafty or you simply don’t have the time, The Home Depot carries a variety of artwork to choose from.
Now how beautiful is this traditional bar cart!?
Bart Cart Style #2
Where are my coffee lovers at??? This next bar cart style makes me so happy! It’s an Espresso & Tea Bar Cart! This is great if you’re hosting a breakfast gathering, brunch or an evening soiree where you serve espresso and tea after dinner.
Just replace all of your cocktail glassware with tea cups and saucers! And why not add the actual espresso machine to the bar cart!? It’s a nice touch.
Finally add in a tea station, and be sure to grab this wood tea box to showcase all your speciality teas. And no tea station is complete without a teapot!!
Which Bar Cart style is your favorite!? I can’t choose, I love them both!
