Crate and Barrel and CB2 Tysons Galleria VIP Pre-Opening Event
If you’ve been following along on IG recently, you’ll know that I attended the pre-opening event at the NEW Crate and Barrel and CB2 location at the Tysons Galleria in Tysons Corner, Virginia! I was extra excited to attend this event because, if you know me well, you know that CB2 has been one of, if not THE dream brand of mine to work with. I didn’t even know they were opening side by side locations in Tysons so when I got the invite I was ecstatic!
The old location of the Crate and Barrel in Tysons Corner was directly across the street from Tysons Corner Center (Tysons 1). The new location of both the Crate and Barrel and CB2 is at the Tysons Galleria (Tysons 2). The stores are literally side by side, so you can dip in and out of both to find what you need and compare selection. They actually closed the CB2 in Georgetown, but I’m very happy they relocated here! Even though Georgetown is closer to where we live, it’s always so hard to park in Georgetown. Now there’s basically limitless parking, so it’s worth the 35 minute drive. The new CB2 is a lot brighter than the Georgetown store too, which gives an enhanced shopping experience in my opinion.
Ok, so now about the event. It was spectacular to say the least! After a warm greeting at the Crate and Barrel entry, they gave guests a beautiful bouquet supplied by @lilysflowertruck that I have sitting in a vase in the kitchen as we speak! Waking up to a fresh flower arrangement just sets the day off right.
Upon entering the CB2 we were greeted by an awesome team member who handed us a gift bag with customizable mugs. A laser etching company was on duty all night, so I had to get something engraved with you guys in mind! “Hey Loves!”
There was a live band, tasty hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and amazing people including the Crate and Barrel/CB2 team. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially Debbie! I sent her on a hunt for this black and white mug that I thought was from Crate and Barrel, but it turned out to be a CB2 sku! I looked for the mug in CB2 but I think it’s only online, so I’ll have to just pick it up another time.
I thought that these round pillows were a must have, so I got one for a client and one for myself lol. After I made my purchase I saw how the light was hitting this vignette and just loved it. Isn’t it beautiful?
We headed back over to Crate and Barrel and I was just obsessed with their vessel display. Of course I had to check out some coffee table books, because I can never have enough lol.
So now for the highlight of my night…As Jasen and I walked in CB2 and greeted the team, someone tapped me and asked “Are you Rashida?” I spun around and curiously replied “Yes”, and she said “Hi, I’m Janet Hayes the CEO of Crate and Barrel Holdings.” My heart skipped about ten beats! I had no idea that the actual CEO was going to be attending the event, let alone that I was going to meet her…and that she was going to introduce herself to me!

Did I mention that it’s been a goal of mine to work with CB2??? Guys this was such a special moment in time for me, and it was refreshing to know that she was so nice. We chatted briefly and I tried not to gush too much about how I loved CB2, and then carried on with our night. From the rest of the night I was on cloud 9! I know she’s just a person like you and me, but it’s just really rewarding when you realize that your work and reputation has been noticed by people or brands you admire!
To cap it off, Crate and Barrel had gift boxes at the exit for all the attendees. Truly a night to remember, loves!
