Guest Room Makeover Design Board
There was absolutely nothing wrong with our previous guest room design. It was fresh and crisp. I loved it 2 years ago when we first gave it a spruce, but my design style has evolved and strengthened.
I wanted to play with color, and really take the room to the next level. I wanted to walk by the door and just gasp at the site of every texture, detail, and color. And ladies (and gentlemen) the room is exactly that! It’s my fall twist on fresh and fiery. The freshness comes from the grayish blue hue on the walls and the clean organic linens. I introduced a fall color from The Home Depot’s fall color palette called “Torch Red” in some DIY artwork that looks like it was commissioned by your favorite artist (pats self on the back*). As you can see from the design board below, we were able to fit a whole canopy bed in this small space, that honestly makes the room feel bigger. You don’t have to go small just because your room is small.
We swapped out the big chest of drawers for a comfy deep seated velvet chair. Since it’s a guest room, I didn’t need clothes storage. And look at these layered rugs…OBSESSED!!

I may have read to fast if so I apologize in advance. Can you tell me if those curtains are hung with curtain hangers or is it on the rod? If its hung with the clips is that from home depot as well? The room is just beautiful great job!!!
Hi there, the curtains are hung with ring clips. The Home Depot does sell ring clips. I get mine from many different places including Home Depot online. And thank you so much!
Gorgeous! But that’s no surprise. The floor to ceiling color is a new method for me, but one i plan to execute in my second bedroom after my daughter scoots her boots. 🙂
Honestly, I’m still trying to get you on payroll for a virtual design consultation. I recently had a contractor to install recessed in my living room and it’s gone left. Feeling a bit defeated and directionless and could genuinely benefit from your feedback to help me adjust and resuscitate my main floor. It’s a mess and the holidays are coming.
