24 Hours in NYC
Hey Loves! So this past weekend, the hubs and I had the pleasure of doing a quick trip to New York. Jasen’s friend turned 40, and his wife threw him a beautiful, intimate dinner at Market Table in the West Village. Check out my quick video recap here, and see some of the highlights of the trip below!
Our Hotel Search
I found this hotel on the Hotel Tonight app that looked like it had a lot of character
We arrived in NYC on Saturday afternoon. Traffic was good so it only took around 4hrs. While Jasen drove, I searched for a hotel. There are a TON of hotels in NYC, so finding the right one can be a task. Between the varying aesthetics, room sizes, locations, and cost, it can be a daunting process! Gild Hall is a Hyatt owned hotel that did not disappoint! It had an early 20th century vibe, kinda felt like a speakeasy. Our rooms were nice and spacious, and the staff was super friendly. The location was classic NYC, with narrow streets and cascading views of buildings in all directions. Would definitely recommend if you’re staying in FiDi!
We Were Very Touristy Ha
Our hotel was walking distance from One World Trade Center
Before heading to dinner, we walked the neighborhood a bit. I was on the hunt for a phone case, and Jasen was looking for a possible wardrobe change for the evening. We were only blocks away from One World Trade Center, and the WTC Mall. The architecture is really amazing. Swipe to the left to see a couple of pics!
We Had to grab coffee and bagels
Vanilla Latte Please!
Whenever I go to a coffee shop, I only get vanilla lattes.
Our friends live in the Financial District (FiDi), and that’s where Gild Hall hotel is, so we were able to catch up with them before leaving town. We met at Black Fox for some catching up. The coffee there was absolutely amazing. My latte was perfection and Jasen ordered a black coffee that honestly tasted amazing! Definitely check them out if you’re in that area.
New York Bagels > All Other Bagels
We stopped at Leo’s Bagels before heading back home.
If you’ve never had a New York bagel, you are missing out on life! It has to be the water, because NY bagels are unlike any other. The texture, the flavor, the consistency…nothing like it! Leo’s is a lower Manhattan staple. We both ordered bacon, egg, and cheese bagels. Yum!
Obligatory Bathroom Mirror Selfie
The mirror lights in our bathroom just required a selfie lol
Do you have to just pause for a mirror selfie sometimes? This was right before Jasen and I headed to meet our friends for breakfast before we got back on the road to DC. The way the lights reflected off this glass tile added some extra pop!
Where were the pups?
Even though Gild Hall is pet friendly, the pups stayed behind at a new sitter this time around.
Finding the right people to watch our dogs is always nerve racking. We are headed out of town to visit my family in New Mexico next week, so we were glad we had this NYC trip to do a “test run” with a new sitter. They were awesome! They sent us regular picture updates, and the boys were nice and tuckered out when we picked them back up. A successful trip all around! Talk later Loves!
