The Best Food Containers for Organization

The Best Food Containers for Organization-The Container Store

We are coming into the final stages of the kitchen renovation. And since we now have access to our cabinets, we can start putting things back in place. However, because we have a new kitchen, I wanted it to also function in a new and better way! What’s the point of making  the outside parts of the kitchen look good if we’re not going to do anything about what the inside looks like? Remember that saying the old folk used to say: “Putting Lipstick on a Pig.” Organization is just as important as the renovation. So over the next few mini blog posts we’ll be talking about the organization systems that are realistic for me. For today, I’ll be showcasing the best food container choices for decanting dried grocery staples.

I could have decanted more food, but I had three rules:  The item had to be a grocery staple that I replenish often, had to be dried food, and has a long shelf life. For me, that’s cereal, oatmeal (I go between three different kinds), sugar (brown sugar, white sugar, and coconut sugar when I want to be healthy), my coffee (we always have two different kinds in our home), pasta, walnuts, and gluten free flour. Your lifestyle may require more or less. So do what works best for you and apply the rules to not go overboard with buying a bunch of food containers.
